Zeal Sorceress Introduction & Overview
The Zeal Sorceress is a fun meta build with surprisingly high single target damage. It uses the runeword Passion to attack with the Zeal Skill, while wearing a Dream shield and a Dream helm in combination with a maxed out Lightning Mastery, making it able to deliver up to 50k lightning damage with a single hit. The build also heavily relies on a maxed out Enchant in order to deliver additional fire damage, and have adequate attack rating. The playstyle is quite unique, you will use the combination of Zeal and Teleport to attack and move. The Zeal Sorc is not amongst the highest tier builds for farming, since its kill speed is quite slow against monster packs. However it is a great single target killer, so if you want to use it for Boss farming/Magic Finding purposes, this build will do fine
As the build relies on expensive runewords, it is not a good ladder starter. Unfortunately it is not fit for Hardcore either. In order to 5-hit with Zeal, your Zeal skill must be at least level 4, so make sure the rest of your gear provide at least +3 to all skills.

Zeal Sorceress Gameplay
Playing solo: Firstly cast Enchant on yourself and your mercenary. Then you should teleport to your targeted location, teleport right on the monster you’d like to attack, and use Zeal to kill it. Always have Frozen Armor on. Have an Act2 Holy Freeze merc for crowd control, preferably with Infinity in order to further boost your damage. You will be able to kill any Boss within 2-3 second.
Playing in a party: When playing in party you should target the monsters with the highest life, teleport on them and quickly get rid of them. Unfortunately the best you can do is kill monsters one by one. Your biggest boost for the party will be your high level Enchant skill, which will roughly double the attack rating of non-casters while adding additional fire damage to their attacks. The party can also benefit from your mercenary’s Holy Freeze aura and the Conviction aura if you have an Infinity. In addition you can also cast Battle Orders and Battle Command in case you have a Call to Arms switch weapon.
Playing Hardcore: The build is unfortunately not Hardcore viable.
Zeal Sorceress Breakpoints
Note: Each second in the game consists of 25 frames or “ticks”. Your breakpoints decide how many frames it will take until you can attack/cast a skill/recover from a hit/ block a new hit.
Faster Cast Rate
- Faster Cast Rate only improves your teleportation speed. Aim for the 63%, or 105% FCR Breakpoints.
Faster Hit Recovery
- Aim for the 5-frame (48%) or 4-frame (86%) Faster Hit Recovery breakpoints.
Faster Block Rate
- There is no need for Faster Block Rate on your gear.
