Fire Wall Sorceress Introduction & Overview

The Fire Wall Sorceress has made a return similarly to several other sorc builds thanks to Sunder Charms and the new runeword, Flickering Flame. The Fire Wall skill can deal even bigger damage than Blizzard, and is fit for all purposes. If you enjoy caster playstyles, you should definitely give it a try, as any game content can efficiently be farmed by it. The only scenario where a FireWall sorc is not super efficient is farming terror zones. On the downside, if you are looking for a cheap, ladder start friendly build, you can already skip this guide, proper gearing for the wall sorc is very expensive.

🔸 Hell Cows speedrun in 2 minutes

🔸 Easily Soloes any game content

🔸 Hell Chaos run and Hell Baal run both within 2-3 minutes

🔸 Hardcore viable in modified skill setup

🔸 Awesome Magic Findind potential

🔸 Very fast teleportation

Fire Wall has such high damage that in perfect gear you will even be able to kill the Ubers. The build can also be used on Hardcore with slight modifications, and is an ideal boss farmer for Magic Finding.

Fire Wall Sorceress Gameplay

Playing solo: Softcore and Hardcore playstyle differs greatly. In Softcore, my suggestion is to max out Fire Wall and its synergies, and in addition max out Blaze as well. You will have three sources for dealing damage, Fire Wall, which delivers damage over a wide radious, but is hard to aim with, Blaze, which delivers damage behind you on the route you take, and Inferno, with which you can attack monsters directly. Having an Act2 Mercenary with Infinity runeword will greatly boost your damage. My suggestion is to use one with Holy Freeze aura, so you can hit targets for a longer period of time with Fire Wall. Casting walls has 1.4 second delay, you should cast Blaze and run around monsters to spend the delay time attacking

Playing in a party: Since targeting single monsters with Fire Wall is quite difficult, you should aim to attack the monsters with the highest life around you. Use Blaze in the same fashion as you would while soloing. If you do Baal runs, pre-cast fire walls at the spawn spot to instantly kill the dropped monsters. If your merc has an Infinity, party members will be grateful for the Conviction aura provided by him. If there is no Barbarian around, you can buff your and the parties life via a Call to Arms switch weapon. If you play with party members such as a Convictionist Paladin or a Necromancer casting Lower Resist Curses, your kill speed will improve drasticly, making you able to one-hit monsters in player 8 difficulty.

Playing Hardcore:
To have good survivability on Hardcore, a mana based Energy Shield build is a must. Needless to say, an Insight wielding Act2 Holy Freeze mercenary greatly improves your survival chances. Since Warmth is a necessary synergy for Fire Wall, your mana regeneration will be very quick. By having an Insight merc in addition, you will almost instantly recover all your mana. In addition, by wearing a Phoenix shield you will also gain Redemption aura which further heals you and also helps with mana recovery. Still you should be very careful not to run or teleport in the middle of monster packs, as you can quickly die in a few situations. Be prepared to get Cursed by amplify damage, decrepify and lower resist, while your enemies might have auras on them such as Fanaticism or Conviction. Overprotecting yourself for such situations is a must. Wear elemental damage absorption items, and try to get your block chance up to 75%. Aim for a high % of physical damage reduction. Gear yourself according to the damage you are likely to take, for example for Chaos Sanctuary and Travincal runs, wear a Rising Sun amulet and a Dwarf star ring,
